Vintage Giggs joins 100 club
Just past the hour, the number 11 was flashed up on the fourth official’s board and Ryan Giggs’ afternoon came to an end. As he left the pitch, the Manchester United captain was given a standing ovation, but what a crowd of more than 75,000 did not seem to know was that this day had brought his 100th League goal.
“I am surprised that there was not an announcement,” said Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager. “He has been fantastic, a great servant to this club and a great character. Not that many people have scored 100 goals [for United].” When Giggs departed, United were in control of a match that had looked a damage-limitation exercise for Derby County from the outset.
Not until Giggs intervened five minutes before the interval to put United in front did the theory become reality. By the time of the break, the match was all over after Carlos Tevez added a second, yet this was an afternoon that was more difficult than United could have expected against the team at the bottom of the table, who are without a win for almost three months and began the match without an away goal all season.
Giggs made the difference, but what is new in that? “He does not always receive the credit he deserves for, day-in, day-out, year-in, year-out, creating and scoring goals,” added Rio Ferdinand, the United defender.
If truth be told, Rio Ferdinand had something to do with that. Speaking afterwards, the United defender expressed outrage at the lack of recognition that Giggs receives when the greats of the modern game are discussed. “He will be appreciated more when he’s retired,” Ferdinand said. “He’s respected a lot more in foreign countries than in this country. It’s a shame we’re not appreciating a player who’s been the most successful footballer of our generation, probably.”
Ferdinand has a point, one that might have been ignored had this not been the day that Giggs scored his 100th league goal, but that is just another milestone in a career during which he has made 736 appearances and scored 143 goals for United. Sooner or later, either towards the end of this season or the start of next, he will eclipse Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 759 appearances for the club. By May, he may also add to his own record of nine league championship medals. By any standards it has been an extraordinary career.

Now, this is GREEN!
The trouble with most green-concept cars is that they require regular "refueling" with hard-to-get hydrogen or ethanol. The Venturi Eclectic runs solely on wind and solar power. Solar cells blanket the rooftop, and a wind turbine provides extra juice. When that's not enough, a backup electric outlet can recharge the three-seat Eclectic in five hours.

Solar Decathlon 2007
What is that?
It’s a competition, now held every other year (this was the third Decathlon since 2002). It’s produced by the Department of Energy as a showcase for the latest high-tech solar homes—designed and built by college students.
The 1st prize winner is from Germany, the University of Darmstadt’s amazing house (pic above) was a glass cube wrapped on all sides by what looked like beautiful wooden shutters. Germany is really into solar power. By German law, if you have solar panels, the power company must buy any excess electricity you generate. As a result, families routinely pocket a handy $100 or $150 a month—from the local utility. There’s a gold rush for roof space, and solar technology is a red-hot market. It’s brilliant.
Check out some of the cool homes, they will work just fine with our weather, won't they? :)

DYNAMIC DUO!!!
DYNAMIC DUO
Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez impressed with some wonderful interplay and some nicely worked goals. Boro gave a decent account of themselves, but were ultimately undone. 4-1 to the Red Devils.
NANI CATCHES THE EYE
After a virtuoso run and screaming finish to open the scoring against Boro Manchester United's Nani shows his acrobatic prowess. Everyone liked it, except, it seems, a sceptical Owen Hargreaves.

A little bit about Sparky
Sparky has grown up quite a bit in just a couple of weeks (into his 9th week now).
The teethes are developing, puppies have 28 temporary teeth, 14 in the upper jaw and 14 in the lower jaw. These deciduous teeth erupt at about three to four weeks of age. Dogs have 42 permanent teeth, 20 on the top, and 22 on the bottom. These begin to emerge at about four months of age. Dogs have 6 permanent teeth that have 3 roots each, and 14 teeth that each have 2 roots.
He likes to nibble, hands, legs, foots, he just nibbles and sometimes bites! It is rather painful if the bite is sudden. I am sure he doesn't mean it, I just need to be a little bit careful. Telling him "No!" when he does it doesn't seem to help.
I don't know how much he will grow within the next few weeks, I can feel that he is getting bigger everyday! Of course, a lot hairier too! He needs a good grooming.
By the way, this is how we can determine just how old dog gets. After the first year of life, a dog is equivalent to sixteen human years. After two years, they are equivalent to a 24 year old, at three years a 30 year old, and each year after, add 5 human years to determine a dog's age.

Seagull Humor...
A seagull in Scotland has developed the habit of stealing chips from a neighborhood shop.
The seagull waits until the shopkeeper isn’t looking, and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size bag of cheese Doritos.
Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by other birds.
The seagull’s shoplifting started early this month when he first swooped into the store in Aberdeen , Scotland , and helped himself to a bag of chips. Since then, he’s become a regular. He always takes the same type of chips.
Customers have begun paying or the seagull’s stolen bags of chips because they think it’s so funny.

Mourinho sacked by Chelsea!
"Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one" - Mourinho introduces himself to the English press after arriving from Porto in summer 2004.
"I don't regret it. The only thing I have to understand is I'm in England, so maybe even when I think I am not wrong, I have to adapt to your country and I have to respect that. I have a lot of respect for Liverpool fans and what I did, the sign of silence - 'shut your mouth' - was not for them, it was for the English press" - Mourinho defends putting a finger to his lips during the 2005 Carling Cup final against Liverpool, an action which resulted in him being sent to the stands.
"It is not a red card, of course not, and for the second time we have to play 55, 60 minutes without a man and the game is completely different. I shouldn't speak about the game, because the game is not a game" - Mourinho blames a first-leg defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 in February 2006 on the sending-off of Asier del Horno.
"The goalkeeper has the ball in his hands, slides and the number 10 cannot get the ball. He goes with the knee into his face" - Mourinho accuses Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt of deliberately injuring Petr Cech after the pair collide in the first minute of last October's match at the Madejski Stadium.
"It is omelettes and eggs. No eggs - no omelettes! It depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket you have class one, two or class three eggs and some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem" - Shorn of the likes of injury victims Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba, Mourinho cooked up a surreal analogy ahead of Tuesday's fateful draw with Rosenborg.

iPhone without the phone!
Today, Apple introduced the iPod Touch. It’s essentially an iPhone without the phone part, and without the speakers and built-in microphone. $299 buys you an 8GB sytem, complete with all the iPhone-like touchy goodness you’ve come to know and want. $399 buys you a 16 GB model with the same embarrassing name.
The iTouch includes built-in WiFi so you can use Safari and YouTube on-the-go as well as make purchases from the iTunes Store. (the iPhone will offer the same ability later this month). Its main button bar offers direct access to Music (great icon), Videos (ugly icon) and Photos (same old icon), as well as the new iTunes WiFi store.

YouTube gets you to United!
Manchester United have signed a gifted nine-year-old after his grandfather sent the Premier League champions a DVD showcasing the boy's talents which has become a YouTube sensation.
Rhain Davis, who was born in England but has lived in Australia since the age of four, was hailed by the British press on Thursday as the next Wayne Rooney after the United striker. The boy's dribbling and goalscoring prowess for an Under-10 side in Brisbane, Australia, feature in a four-minute YouTube clip, already viewed more than 800,000 times.

Hargreaves happy to return home
What are your first impressions of Manchester United?
It's a massive, massive club. But it's a bit like Bayern Munich in the sense that there's a family atmosphere. There's such a tight-knit group, especially around the team, and so far everyone has been fantastic...
Given your family roots, do you feel like you've come home now?
It definitely is home for my family. My mum's in Rhyl, which isn't far away, and my dad's family is from Farnworth, so both families are really within a few minutes really.
